Film Festival Rules For Private Videos

Question: What are people's experiences using Vimeo Private to get a feature film out to friends who live on the other side of the world.

Will any film festivals not accept your film because it has been on Vimeo?

Hi Ben, good question. The only way to be sure is to contact the film festivals you're interested in and ask them their policy on this issue.

In general, here's why film festivals have this rule. They want to get as many people to attend their film festivals as possible and if the public is able to see your film online, why would they come to the festival? So as long as your video is kept private, you SHOULD be fine. But again, to be 100% sure, contact a few film festivals and just ask.

Good luck!
