The Beginning of MasterCard | Documentary Idea

by Sarah
(Caldwell, New Jersey)

My name is Sarah and I am 19 years old. When I was 11 years old my grandfather, Melvin Benovitz, died. It was at this time that I learned that my grandfather founded the very large modern company of MasterCard.

After helping my grandmother clean out her house recently, I have a lot of documents and memorabilia that can prove his involvement in the founding.

However, through the research I have done online, I have realized that my grandfather is not given any credit for his involvement in the creation of the modern day concept of credit cards.

By doing some research some websites state that Stanley Benovitz was involved in creating the credit card, however this is not true.

Stanley is my grandfather's cousin who has tried to take his credit of the founding.

Unfortunately, my grandfather is no longer around to correct this error.

I feel that it is important for me to do everything I can to let the world know about what my grandfather has done, and help spread his legacy.

Please help me to spread to the world the true story of Master Card that my family truly knows.
