What the best hard drive for video editing?

by Randall
(Florida, USA)

Question: I'll be traveling with a group of cyclists across the country this summer who are raising money for a non-profit. I will be shooting video along the way with the Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera with the goal of producing web videos for their website, plus a short documentary at the end of the trip. I will be editing on my laptop (Dell Inspiron) and will need some extra hard drive space to store the video footage. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Answer: Since you'll be traveling, I recommend getting something a bit more rugged. I personally love G-Technology (GRaid) hard drives, but for your situation I recommend a Lacie portable hard drive.

Sounds like a great project. Good luck!
