Modern Man documentary idea. Following the idea of what became of our concept of what a man is. What we consider manly today, and how it became that.
How schools, and media portray men, and how men believe women want them to be.
What happened to chivalry? What happened to taking pride in physical abilities as much as mental, and when did it become ok for men to cry in public?
Some will see this as a step backwards, but I believe we are building generations of ineffective men, that don't know where they stand anymore in society. Vilified by society, I believe that there is much more to understanding why skinny jeans and beards at the same time don't make sense.
I think starting with the traditional idea of what a man is, and then following the science and hormonal differences. I'd like to see if there is a history of hormones and difference between 10, 20, 30+ years ago.
Then a small focus on media development over the years.
Schools, and text books, and how they have changed.
How did wars, and social movements affect the male identity.
What does society want men to become?
